Department of Aviation Medicine
DAM REGISTRAR
Serves as the technical advisor to the Department of Army Aviation Medicine (DAM) Dean and Course Directors. The registrar for DAM is physically located at the Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) Ft Sam Houston, Texas. The registrar provides advice concerning student attrition, academic evaluation reports, academic awards, academic progress of students, enrollment, disenrollment, and non-enrollment of students, requirements by higher headquarters concerning student administration, statistical reports, and on actions permissible in cases of students who are academically deficient or who miss instruction for any reason. Compiles, maintains, and analyzes student statistical academic data used for reporting and historical purposes. Provides student data to the Training and Development office for monthly input to DAM and yearly student load data to the Medical Center of Excellence.
Reviews and determines necessary action as requirements pertaining to academic student administration are received or changed by higher headquarters or appropriate officials. Incumbent determines impact on the student population along with actions required for implementation. Writes appropriate instructions, directives and/or procedures, coordinates same, and implements as authorized. Reviews drafts prepared by other school agencies and prepares comments/recommendations. Maintains close coordination with other school officials on academic administration. Compiles and provides information on students interviewed considered by the school faculty board for staff/faculty assignments.
