Welcome New Members to the Wonderful World of MEDCoE
MEDCoE develops medical professionals, integrates medical capabilities, and drives change in the Army Medicine to enable the Joint Forces to win the Nations’ wars. We have the largest Civilian-Accredited Service School, home of the Combat Medic, and second largest Active Duty MOS in the Army. The Army Proponent for Envisioning and Designing the Medical Capabilities for the Next War. Delivers professional health care services education and training to 21 MOSs, 16 AOCs, & 24 Degree Programs for Officer and Enlisted personnel.
We’re excited to have you as part of the MEDCoE team. As a new team member, you’ll go through the Onboarding process. Onboarding is a vital process in which Civilians and Military members are integrated into the organization. They will be well-equipped with the knowledge, and direct personal assistances to help prepare them to be fully engaged to become a productive member of the MEDCoE team. Our Onboarding Program will promote a better understanding of the culture, mission and goals of our organization. The specific components of onboarding will vary for military, civilian, and contractor personnel. Please review your role below that applies to you.
New Civilians
You are required to attend the 10-day mandatory onboarding program. Once you receive your Final Job Offer (FJO) with your specified Entrance on Duty (EOD) you will be contacted by the Onboarding Program Manager, your Supervisor/Sponsor 5-7 days prior to your start date with detailed reporting instructions.
Permanent Party Military
Once you complete the Installation in-processing at the Military Personnel Division (MPD), you will be required to attend MEDCoE mandatory newcomers’ orientation, that will coincide with the civilians Onboarding schedule, you are only required to attend days 1-3 and 8-10. Your unit S1 will provide you with the schedule with times and locations.
Contractors
Please report directly to your Contracting Officer Representative (COR). They will assist with required in-processing.

Leaders Certification Course
• LCC is a two-day Leadership Certification program directed by the commander of the MEDCoE to give leaders the tools to be able to better lead their sections by helping them better understand themselves to help create a better nontoxic environment while enhancing those soft skills such as Team Building, Effective Communication, Open Mindedness, Adaptability, Critical Thinking.

Employees return to their organizations conduct a meet and greet, tour of their work locations and work on the following:
Set up Computer LAN Access/Army365 Accounts/ATAAPS Account:
• Cyber Awareness Training
Cyber Training Login (army.mil)
• Complete DD Form 2875 System Authorization Access Request (SAAR)
• Sign the Army IT User Agreement
Completes Mandatory Online Training Online training which will consist of:
• EEO, Anti-Harassment & No Fear Training (Supervisor or Nonsupervisory)

(Diom (Arbinger) in the approach to Developing and Implementing an Outward Mindset (DIOM is based on the concept of mindset transformation (thinking and operating with an outward mindset). The outward mindset is a way of thinking that focuses on the needs, objectives, and challenges of others rather than solely on oneself).

• Complete Questionnaire
30 Days
•Ensure they created a My Biz account.
•Ensure they created a My Pay account.
•Review and finalize performance objectives and sign performance plan.
•Set individual development goals and finalize IDP. Identify long term training requirements (CES, etc)
•Review completion of mandatory annual training.
•Review payroll timing, ATAAPs and policies and procedures.
•Arrange for new team member to meet key partners from other divisions and Command Team.
•Make yourself available by phone, email, or for in-person meeting.
90 Days
•Conduct informal Performance check.
•Provide training, as needed, to help new team member understand internal systems, general operating practices and obtain other information or skills required in the performance of his/ her job.
•Give performance feedback early and often to new team member.
•Meet regularly with new team member to complete mid-point performance review (at a minimum) and review of IDP to revalidate performance and developmental goals.
•Finalize annual evaluation and review - refine IDP.
•Seek feedback from new team member about work assignments, and job satisfaction to date.
•Place completed checklist in team member’s file.
•Request Onboarding Certification for employee.
