The Army Civilian Corps
Although Civilians have been an integral part of the Army since its inception, the Army Civilian Corps was formally established on June 19, 2006, by the Honorable Francis J. Harvey, former Secretary of the Army and General Peter J. Schoomaker, former Chief of Staff of the Army. The Army Civilian Corps embodies the commitment of dedicated individuals who serve as an integral part of our Army team.
Army Civilians have a 230-year record of service and are a critical component of the Total Army Force Structure. The Army Civilian Corps consists of experienced civilian personnel committed to serving the Nation. Army Civilians play a vital role in maintaining our Nation’s readiness and are valued members of the Army Profession.
Army Civilians provide invaluable institutional knowledge and continuity for the organizations they join, and they lead, manage, and maintain critical programs that support Soldiers and their Families, both while Soldiers are at home and while they are deployed. Army Civilians fill positions on Army staffs and sustain base operations that would otherwise have to be filled by Military personnel.
They provide mission-essential capability, stability, and continuity during war and peace in support of the Nation. Some Army Civilians also deploy to combat zones, and many are stationed overseas in direct support of our Soldiers and Families. It’s a mission that Army Civilians take personally.
AMEDD Civilian Corps
The AMEDD Civilian Corps was established on 26 March 1996 and has played a vital role in maintaining Army Medical Readiness. AMEDD Civilians are valued members of the Army profession. Not only do they provide invaluable institutional knowledge and continuity for Army Medicine, our AMEDD Civilians lead, manage and maintain critical programs that support Army Soldiers, their Families and Civilians at home and abroad.
AMEDD Civilians take their mission personally and provide mission-essential capability, stability and continuity during war and peace.

The Army Medicine Wolf Pack Award
The Surgeon General and the Chief of the AMEDD Civilian Corps created the Wolf Pack Award to recognize exceptional teamwork by an integrated group of military and civilian team members focused on excellence in support of Army Medicine.
Sponsored by the AMEDD Civilian Corps, this award is intended to recognize and celebrate successes of teams throughout Army Medicine. Winning teams will be selected and announced quarterly. Quarterly winners will automatically compete for the "Wolf Pack of the Year” Award, presented annually at the MEDCOM Training Symposium or other appropriate forum.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Eligible teams must consist of a mix of Department of the Army civilian and military team members. The Wolf Pack Award will recognize teamwork that drives excellence in outcomes supporting the Army Medicine mission.
The winning teams must demonstrate excellence and effective teamwork resulting in significant products or services with the potential for broad impact in support of Army Medicine. Endorsements must confirm EO/EEO/HR adverse action screening of all team members being nominated.
Nomination Procedures
Anyone can nominate a team for this award, with Command endorsement. Click below to download the Wolf Pack Nomination Form. Submit completed forms via email to AMEDD Civilian Corps Chief at any time throughout the quarter. Nominations must be received by the last working day of the month for consideration of the award for that quarter; unless there are exceptions due to unforeseen circumstances. (1st Quarter - 31 Dec; 2nd Quarter - 31 Mar; 3rd Quarter - 30 Jun; 4th Quarter - 30 Sep)
